Yakima DoubleDown Ace hitch mount bike rack

Yakima’s new DoubleDown Ace bridges the gap between the original and the lighter aluminum HiLight model.

It gets the steel upright and adds their quick release locking tightening knob. There’s a quick pull knob to tilt the rack away from the vehicle, and the rack arms fold down when not in use.

They come with parts to work in either 1-1/4″ or 2″ hitches out of the box, and the pin hole has been relocated to work with shallower Class 1 hitches.

$219/$269/$299 for 2/4/5 bike, all three work with the 1-1/4″ hitch, too.

You’re one bolt away from making this fit in 1-1/4″ hitches. A lockable knob expands the wedge to keep people from walking off with your rack and keeps it from rocking and swaying.

Lumintrek prototype bicycle lights

LuminTrek showed off two prototype bike lights. The Twin Beam 2000 has a detachable pressure sensitive mode/on/off switch that plugs into the back of the light body and mounts to the handlebar. It claims to pump out 2,000 lumens from two bulbs.

The Trailblazer 3000 comes with a wireless remote mode switch and a max 3,000 lumen output.

Sun-Ringle’s Charger wheels will come in 650B later this year, and Inferno 25 and 27 wheels are available now in 32 hole 650B if you wanna build up your own wheels. They’ve got some high end stuff in various sizes coming that we’re not allowed to talk about yet, but it follows the tradition of their Black Flags in that they should offer a really good weight/performance value. Plus, they look pretty good.
