IRC showed us their road tubeless tires at Interbike, and we’ve been pretty happy with them in testing. Now, they’re introducing a wider 25c size and a cyclocross tire, and a few other goodies.
The Serac CX is a 700×32 full knob that comes in at a claimed 385 grams. It was tested in Kentucky and uses the same Micro Gauge inner casing tech as their road tubeless tires. IRC sales manager Kiochi Murata said it’s a true tubeless, no sealant is necessary. Same as their road tires.
The tread pattern is designed to be an all around performer. More specialized patterns will follow.
The Road Lite tubeless tires gain a wider 25c size. Claimed weight is 345g.
The X-Guard has extra puncture protection but somehow still comes in lighter at 280g (claimed) for 700x23c. Their new tire levers are designed to aid install and removal without damaging the tire or rim. The small, pokey end helps lever the last bit of tire onto the rim.
Lastly, they’re adding a 27.5″ version of their long running (but updated) Mythis tread pattern. The knobs are a little lower profile than what I ran decades ago, and there are flatter supporting knobs between them.
