After toying with both American and Overseas manufacturing, Black Market bikes has been making a major push in recent years to build and spec all their bikes with US made components.

The new prototype on display at the booth was no exception, developed using a similar geometry to their former Contraband model, this new bike will be their first 24″ bike to made here in the states.

The bike will be built using True Temper tubing that is handout to size by legendary frame designer Carter Holland.

The model on display at the booth was just a prototype, so many of the tubeset a where borrowed from the Edit 1. The finished product will have it’s own specific bridge stays and laser cut emblems.

20140416-161505.jpgTo ensure everyone can fit on the frames, Carter is hoping to have six different sizes available. Everything from a  20.5″ TT through a 23″, in half inch intervals.

The bike will be rocking 13.9″ chain stays (.5″ shorter than those on the  Contraband), a 71 degree head tube angle with an 80mm fork, and the smaller frames should be sub 5 lbs.

The frames are largely built to order, so you can specify what BB standard (Euro or mid), rear spacing (BMX or 135), and even the paint. The version with the BMX hub spacing willalso  have provisions for a normal brake, while the MTB model will have disc mounts.

Mommy’s Little monster will be available soon and will retail for $500.

The bars have no logos, but come with a sticker packet for customization. Retail is $55 and they’re available now.

I don’t have a clue where/how I would ride this, but I’m thinking I would have a helluva time fingerin’ it out.
