Loaded Precision’s AmX Carbon line is new, slotting in alongside the lighter XC and trail lines for enduro and gravity style riding.

All of them are 840mm wide, available in 31.8 and 35 diameters, with 25mm and 8mm rises, but the 8mm looks like a flat bar on the 35mm version (top of pic).

Loaded says they’re strong enough for DH thanks to an elastomer infused resin that helps maintain the bar’s integrity over time, helping diffuse the micro fractures that occur in carbon wth extended use. The tech has been used in F1 car cockpit buckets that protect the drivers, which are made by the same factory that makes Loaded’s bars. Retail is $169.

The low rise bar came in at 216g, the 25mm rise at 221g.

They also have alloy versions in 35mm now, too. They’re a bit shorter at 810mm, made with double butted and tapered 7075 aluminum. Retail is $79.

AmX Trail stem is completely updated with a wider faceplate that’s better suited for really wide bars. The bar clamp area is about 65mm wide. Retail is $79.

Weight on our scale was 171g.

Not shown, the AmX direct mount stem is now available in 35mm, too.

Upsweep/backsweep?

Also 120mm wide? For the faceplate? That’s massive!!!!

Tom – it’s 65mm, somehow my onsite iPhone note taking at their booth converted 65 to 120 even though we measured it right there. It’s been fixed, thanks.

Love the fact the bars come so long. It forces everyone to think about what bar length they really need instead of buy what component makers think you want. I always used 740mm length but when my last bars came in 800mm I found 785mm was the sweet spot. I never would have picked a 785mm bar. Also 65mm clamp area is still massive. My old clamp was 40mm (standard’ish), my new clamp area is 50mm (pretty wide), but 65mm is crazy good. Never thought about Loaded but I’ll check them out on my next build.

So it is and 8/4 sweep bar, why don’t companies put more back sweep on wider bars?

Now all I need is 35mm bar mounts for lights and the like.

Tyler – Nice, I’ll be on the look out for them since I’m building a trail bike and always looking to keep it light but tough. Thanks… good to get thumbs up from an editor who’s riding it.
