Much like the Level brakes before them, the SRAM Guides just got a new family member. Using the same naming structure, the new brakes are simply called the Guide T. Adding to the current line up of the Guide Ultimate, RSC, RS, R, and RE, the T is now the new entry point – though it still offers some great features.
The only brake in the line that’s not MatchMaker X compatible, the Guide T does at least keep the split clamp and standard MatchMaker compatibility. Other than tooled reach adjust, the ambidextrous DirectLink lever is kept pretty simple with a stamped aluminum blade.
The four piston calipers offer similar power to their more expensive counter parts, and still feature the Bleeding Edge bleed port design. You’ll also find SRAM’s Heat Shield, which is a stainless steel shield between the steel backed organic pad and the caliper body. They say it reduces fluid temperature by up to 20°C.
Meant to be paired with the one piece Centerline rotors, the brakes have a claimed weight of 280g per brake without adapters and an 800mm hose. Priced at $105 per brake, Guide T will be available this month.
