Standert’s gravel & bikepacking Erdgeschoss brings just a few rather simple updates to the already popular stainless steel bike, designed to take your adventures further. This evolution aims to give riders more options for bigger tires, without compromising the bike’s proven ride. So it adds customizable geometry tweaks to let riders switch from bigger to smaller tires while preserving the bike’s feel.

What’s new?

Up front, the geo switch is handled by the Columbus Futura Cross+ carbon fork that has a flip-chip at the axle with either 47 or 52mm of offset. That way for example, you could ride an everyday setup with 700c x 42mm tires & 52mm offset for fast gravel, then swap to smaller diameter but cushier 650b x 2″ tires & 47mm offset for more off-road adventure rides – both with almost identical fork Trail for familiar handling.

Out back, Standert have switched to a sliding dropout (like, but not the Paragon style) that gives the option to lengthen the wheelbase by up to 20mm. This modular style dropout also gives lots of flexibility, as owners could always set the bike up in the future as a single-speed or even swap to a different axle attachment standard.

The dropout & fork changes also come with greater overall tire clearance, now officially up to 650b x 54mm / 700c x 50mm.

One last upgrade is improved dynamo lighting integration. Now the Futura Cross+ fork includes internal routing inside the fork leg, but Standert also gives the Erdgeschoss frame internal routing to connect a dynamo-powered taillight directly mounted to a new tab at the top of the seatstay.

Actual geometry for the Erdgeschoss is unchanged (in the short chainstay, larger offset position), still available in Standert’s signature broad seven stock sizes from 48-60cm, with Project Compact reshaped geo on the three smallest bikes.
