Back in October, Team Sky announced they’d be riding Pinarello. Now it’s official: Here’s the Team Sky Pinarello Dogma 60.1 spec’d with Pinarello’s MOST brand seatpost, stem and handlebar. (click image to enlarge)
Originally, people speculated they’d be riding an American brand, but in the end they chose Italian…but just for the bike. They’ll use Shimano Di2 electronic shifting rather than Campy, and it’ll roll on carbon Dura-Ace wheels, too.
The clean blue and black paint scheme is a far cry from the recently revealed Team RadioShack Trek Madones, and the blue inside of the chain- and seatstays is quite elegant (much like the Wired Trek Madone’s paint job).
The 2010 Dogma is the first fully asymmetrically framed road bike, with an approximate frame weight around 950 – 990g (54cm, unpainted), and it uses their ONDA fork which, for this model, is also asymetrical. We covered the bike in full tech detail in this post which is available in 11 colors, but not anything that matches this.
But, for those on a *ahem* budget, the Pinarello Prince was introduced in a new colorway earlier this year called the Sky, which is a similar blue/black scheme, but not an exact match. Check it out after the break, along with a photo of Brad Wiggins with team principal Dave Brailsford…
