Today, urban mobility specialists Tern Bicycles announce the launch of the 4th generation of their popular Vektron folding eBike. This compact folding electric bike is designed for urban commuters and travelers who need a bike that can easily transition between riding and storage. It comes in two models, the Vektron Pi5 and the Vektron P10.
The Vektron addresses a common challenge with folding e-bikes; they don’t always ride or feel like a normal bike. However, Tern says the Vektron delivers both portability and solid ride quality. This way, riders don’t have to pick between the two.
The new Velktron features a rigid frame and handlepost that reduce flex, a Bosch electric drivetrain, and a patented folding mechanism that allows the bike to pack down quickly for transport on public transit, in car trunks, or in small storage spaces.
The bike’s folding design includes several practical features geared for urban use. Once folded, it can roll easily through train stations and buildings, allowing users to pull it along rather than carry it.
When folded, the bike stands upright on its own, eliminating the need to lean it against walls or hold it while waiting. The Vektron accommodates riders from 4’10” to 6’5″ through an adjustable stem and telescopic seatpost.
The cockpit can be resized without tools, which can be really convenient for multiple users in one household. The available options include a Gates belt-drive system that requires minimal maintenance and runs quietly, plus an internal gear hub for reduced maintenance.
Safety and reliability features include third-party testing for EN 15194 compliance and Bosch system certification to UL 2849 standards for electrical and fire safety.
The Vektron comes with a 10-year limited warranty for registered users and includes a 7-year parts availability guarantee for essential components like the battery and motor.
Tern made sure the new and improved Vektron included an Atlas V rear rack system that’s compatible with multiple accessory mounting standards for carrying cargo or personal items.
The Vektron is exclusively available through certified dealers to ensure proper assembly and ongoing service support.
