Sixpack Racing, component manufacturers from Southern Germany have released a new stem for Downhill and Freeride disciplines. The Millenium stem features a freeride-friendly 0° rise, and is available in both 35mm and 31.8mm clamp diameters to fit all common aluminium and carbon bar setups. The CNC-Machined stem is a neat construction, with a black anodized body and a racing grey one-piece headplate. We have the details.

The Sixpack Millenium is a CNC-machined stem, made from 6061-T6 aluminum. Aimed at Freeride and Downhill MTB disciplines, the Millenium stem is only available in 35mm and 45mm reach options.

The stem provides a 230° increased handlebar clamping surface which ensures maximum stability

Sixpack Racing state a claimed weight of 128g for the 35mm reach, 35mm clamp version. The Sixpack Millenium isn’t the lightest stem on the market, nor it is the heaviest. But, in the world of freeride and downhill, weight is of little consequence. Strength is much higher on the list of priorities.

Sixpack tests its components in conjunction with EFBE-Prüftechnik. This means that the Sixpack Millenium stem has been tested on the most modern machines with the latest and toughest standards of the industry.

The Millenium stem excelled in category 5 testing, or “Parts for extreme riding”. This category is the highest class a bicycle component can reach. It translates to intended applications that include Downhill trails, bike parks, jumps and drops higher than 122cm (48“) – for a normal bike or an E-bike.

can we please stop using terms like: swiss engineering, German precision, etc? They really speak nothing of the caliber of the work done and just rely on stale stereotypes. If we were honest, the top compliment would be Taiwanese engineering, as they make 99% of the bikes out there and production engineers make product engineers look silly. Besides, this “german quality” is just a more expensive?! Renthall knockoff. Why even run this add?
