Apparently, if you consider yourself a sneakerhead the Yeezy 350 Boost V2 is very desirable sneaker. To the point that the idea of cutting one up, to turn it into a cycling shoe? Well, that would border on sacrilegious. Which is why when State Bicycle Co. had the idea to convert a pair of Yeezy 350s into SPD compatible cycling kicks, they had to get permission from the man himself. With Kanye’s blessing, they handed the shoes over to Jake Danklefs of Dank & Co. to start cutting & pasting…
To make the conversion, they used a donor pair of DZR Minnas to provide the SPD shank for the new Yeezy SPDs.
After a lot of careful cutting, re-gluing, and dremeling, the new cycling shoes come to life.
Considering that the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 will run you about $350-400 currently, and that you have to sacrifice a perfectly good pair of DZR Minnas, the resulting shoes are probably some of the most expensive SPD compatible sneakers ever made. But it just goes to show, if you have the resources, and the imagination, almost anything is possible.
