Aaron Gwin has only been on the race circuit since 2008, but he already has a storied career as a pro downhill racer. After two great seasons of winning back to back world cup overall titles in 2011 and 2012, Gwin switched bike sponsors and seemed to be faltering for a while. Last year, Gwin proved his run is far from over by winning the first race at Pietermaritzburg and consistently threatening for the top spots. This year, he’s taken the win at Lourdes so far…
Troy Lee Designs is paying homage to their sponsored champion with a recently launched limited edition Sprint kit in Gwin’s proudly American color scheme. This will be Gwin’s official race outfit for 2015, but could be yours too if you’re a fan of Gwin, or ya just love ‘merica! The three-piece signature kit includes the D3 carbon Helmet and the Sprint jersey and pants. Click past the break for photos…
The D3 helmet boasts a carbon shell with 20 vents and inner padding made with Coolmax and Dri-Lex materials which can be removed for washing. The chin strap D-ring and visor screws are titanium to shave a few grams (and for increased ‘bling’ factor) and the helmet comes with a travel bag and two color matched visors. Gwin’s model shows the red, white and blue in this cool TLD-esque design, which is available in XS-XXL sizes.
The Sprint jersey features mesh arms and side panels, and a moisture wicking rear collar. The ‘race inspired, freeride dialed’ construction suggests a slightly relaxed yet slender fit equally suitable for lapping your local bike park or pinning for the podium. Gwin’s limited edition Sprint jersey is available in sizes S-XXL.
The Sprint pants are made of 600 denier polyester with Kevlar knee panels to endure high speed incidents, and include bonded rubber waist adjusters plus two zippered front pockets. To ensure good mobility, the pants utilize 2-way stretch poly spandex panels, a stretchy lycra inner liner panel and a rear stretch yoke. The pants also feature mesh vents and ¾ length polyester mesh liners. The Gwin-edition Sprint pants come in sizes 30-38.
The Limited Edition Aaron Gwin Sprint Kit is now available from TLD dealers worldwide, for sizing info check out Troy Lee’s website.
