The Tour Divide, a single-stage 2,745 mile (4418 km) self-supported mountain bike race down the Great Divide starts Friday, June 12.
Leaving from Banff, Alberta, Canada, and heading south, ending in Antelope Wells, New Mexico, racers are required to bring what they need or ship supplies to stopping points along the way by themselves. No personal deliveries from friends or family…you gotta figure it out ahead of time.  Emergency repair parts can be shipped, but must arrive at a public address by commercial carrier, no spousal deliveries or anything of the like.
Even though racers are allowed to ride together, drafting or sharing of equipment is prohibited.  Sounds rough.  Check it out here, and follow the racers’ progress via MTBCast.
