Trailcraft Cycles continues to roll out premium kids mountain bikes, this time going smaller with the new Blue Sky 20″ hardtail. Available in standard builds with a front suspension fork, they’re also offering a special limited edition build with a lightweight rigid fork. The Blue Sky keeps their high end build, using Stan’s NoTubes Crest MK3 tubeless-ready rims, real 20×2.25″ tires and new, shorter 127mm cranks.

Standard builds come with Vee Crown Gem 20×2.25 tubeless-ready tires that, Trailcraft says, actually measure out just above 2.36″ wide. Perfect for adding flotation and traction for young riders without adding a ton of weight. Paired with their own carbon/alloy 80mm air suspension fork, complete bike weights start at 19lbs.

Their own crankset keeps the spindle length at the right size for little riders, at 127mm, and uses their alloy spindle and direct-mount chainrings to keep weight low. Choose between 28 or 30 tooth rings.

The base build starts at $1,449 with house brand wheels, Shimano 396 hydraulic disc brakes and lightweight Avid rotors. You also get a Shimano Zee rear derailleur and SunRace 11-42 10-speed cassette. Jump to the $1,699 Pro Build and you upgrade to the Stan’s wheels, Zee shifters and Deore brakes.

Grab this holiday limited edition for $1,199 and the weight drops to a claimed 17.99lb thanks to a rigid alloy fork. Wheels change to a custom built house brand set, but you still get the Zee rear derailleur, direct mount cranks and Vee tires. All models come in your choice of green, red or blue.

These look really nice for my 5 year old who’s birthday and Christmas fall in the same month. That green is amazing! All the other bikes for kids are so heavy.
