Trek Allant+ 7 E-bike — Why the Recall?
Trek is recalling this particular Allant+ 7 e-bike because the brake hose manufactured by Tektro can get damaged if it interferes with the headlight or headlight mounting bracket. If the brake hose cuts, it could result in the loss of rear brake hose function. If this happens while riding, you could lose control of the bicycle, fall, or worse.
How Can I Tell if My Bike is Part of the Recall?
If you are unsure whether your bicycle is affected by this recall, please get in touch with your local Trek retailer. If your Allant+ 7 e-bike bicycle has the (NEW) multi-pivot headlight bracket, it is NOT affected by this recall.
Full recall details can be found here on the Trek website.
What Should You Do if Your Bike is Part of the Recall?
First, Trek is asking that you refrain from riding the bicycle and start by contacting your local Trek retailer to schedule a service appointment for inspection or repair. Trek will provide riders (with recalled equipment) a replacement headlight mounting bracket and rear brake hose through a Trek dealer — at no cost to the rider.
In addition, when you bring your affected bicycle to a Trek retailer, Trek will give you a $10US/13CAD in-store credit for Trek or Bontrager merchandise. The credit is good through December 31, 2023, and has no cash value.
For more information, check Trek.com or contact your local Trek Dealer.
