Trek’s Project One ICON initiative is all about high-end paint jobs that capture the spirit of the bikes they adorn. The latest offering is called “Disrupt,” and it’s only available on what Trek calls “our fastest road bike” — the Madone SLR.

Disrupt is a streaky smear of red, blue, and black stripes meant to invoke “the chaotic blur of the peloton racing by,” according to a Trek press release. It’s certainly eye-catching. And while the photos are nice, it probably really comes into its own once in motion.

The tip of the Madone SLR spear is the SLR 9 AXS Gen 7. This puppy runs $13,200 MSRP and represents all the aero tech Trek could cram into one bicycle. The 800 Series OCLV Carbon frame paired with high-end components makes for a bike that is, Trek said on its website, “the ride you reach for on race day when every watt counts and your eyes are on the top step.”

Madone SLRs in Disrupt are available now at Trek retailers and online at the Trek website.

Why would you want a suspension component on a bike that you can’t adjust pre-load, rebound, or compression on? Does Trek publish what rider weight this frame is exactly designed around?

There is no suspension component, just an area in the frame that’s designed to flex slightly more than a conventional design would. They make bikes with IsoSpeed that have a small amount of adjustment, the last version of Madone among them.

The website says total weight of 125kg/275lb:
This bike has a maximum total weight limit (combined weight of bicycle, rider, and cargo) of 275 pounds (125 kg).

Sounds like you’re describing a suspension component.

Beautiful! To me, it evokes Martini Racing livery (but needs a little more white to complete the effect).
