In other news, the UCI Management Committee has awarded the 2013 Mountain Bike World Championships to Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Pietermaritzburg has previously hosted two rounds of the UCI World Cup in 2009 and again in 2011. The 2012 season opener will be held in Pietermaritzburg as well.
