After something like 23 years, John Parker is officially back. While it looked like Underground Bike Works was due to get off the ground in 2016, the Kickstarter campaign didn’t work out and the project was reorganized. Now, John Parker is back with an even more polished bike called the Revival. Still a 27.5+/29″ hard tail, the Revival will have a top end build made by none other than Frank the Welder, but will be limited to just 250 bikes.
Utilizing a number of new forgings meant to emulate the looks of some of the original JP Yeti frames, the Revival has been tuned for modern mountain bike standard with clearance for plus size tires, disc brakes, dropper posts, and more. Featuring the iconic loop tail design, the modern part of the rear end comes in the form of Boost 148mm spacing. The frames will have clearance for 27.5+ tires, but will also be able to run 29″ wheels and tires as well.
The 6061 T6 aluminum frame also features the classic ovalized top tube along with plenty of gussets to make sure this frame will stand the test of time.
Built with internal cable routing, a multi step custom finish process, and beautiful detail right down to the bottle braze ons, the Revival is a classic, yet modern bike that really looks great in person.
Just 250 FTW Revivals will be made and they’ll be available in S – XL frames with a SRAM XX1 eagle 1×12 drivetrain, Industry Nine/HED Raptor wheels, and a 130mm travel RockShox Pike. Pricing is set at $6,950 and bikes can be reserved with a $500 down payment. Too pricey? Underground Bike Works is also working on a Taiwanese built Revival that will use the same forgings, and will be closer to $4,000 for the complete build.
