When a company has built a reputation around beautiful (albeit unusually named) columbus steel road and mountain bike frames, it’s only logical they seek out the very best composite engineers possible when attempting to build their first carbon road frame. In this case, Vandeyk sought out former Formula 1 engineer Ralf Brand.
With his materials expertise the company has created the 1.9 lb (870 gram, size 56) Machine for Riding. Built entirely in Germany and available in six different sizes, with custom geometry upon request, the frameset (frame, Chris King headset, Enve fork) will retail for $6,300 US (5,950 EUR).
