When it comes to upfitting cargo vans, there are a ton of options out there, but few are as full service as VanDoIt. Based out of Lees Summit, MO, just outside of Kansas City, VanDoIt is conveniently located a short drive from Ford’s Claycomo, MO assembly plant where the Ford Transit is assembled for the U.S. market. For a number of factors, VanDoIt is currently focused on the Transit for their complete builds and upfits, though they can work on just about anything. What sets VanDoIt apart from many other builders is that they can sell you the complete van, help you finance it, and even accept your current vehicle as a trade in.
This was the second time we’ve been able to check out the VanDoIt vans in person, though this time they had even more options to show. With complete vans running from $48,000 to $79,000 including the conversion, what does that get you? For starters, you can get a Transit with removable seating for 2, 4, 5, or 7 passengers which gives you far more options than those straight from Ford. They’re also factory seats which means you get the same safety (seat belts), attachment points, and the ability to recline. Add in the option for fancy custom leather covers, and you already have better seating options from the “factory” than most vans offer.
Since VanDoIt works straight with Ford, you have all the same options in terms of low, medium, or high roof, short or long wheelbase plus extended (depending on the roof configuration), and the choice of gas engines in the form of the 3.7L v6 or 3.5L twin turbo charged EcoBoost V6, as well as a 3.2L I5 Power Stroke turbo diesel.
Then there’s the interior builds – with options for almost everything you could think of. The main gear slide in the back will allow you to mount your bikes and slide them out for easy access – but you can also stand on it, or load it with almost anything you can think of since it has an 800lb capacity.
If you want a bed, you can add the bed lift platform which features a proprietary hydraulic adjustable lift platform. That way you can easily crank it up or down into the desired position using the crank on the left.
And that’s just scratching the surface. From kitchen pods, entertainment, TVs, sound systems, toilets, off grid solar systems, lighting, air compressors, showers, racks, customizable shelving and storage, and more, VanDoIt probably has an option for it.
They even partner with Quigley for 4×4 builds to take the hassle out of buying the van and shipping it immediately to Quigley for the conversion (which they will only do on new Ford Transits now).
Obviously, the more options, the higher the price, but VanDoIt offers a seamless way to order your dream #vanlife ride at very competitive pricing. For more information hit up their website or catch one of their rolling models at one of many events coming up this summer!
