BIKERUMOR.com 2009 SEA OTTER CLASSIC COVERAGE: Vaude (pronounced vow-day) had a huge range of packs on display.  The German brand is one of Europe’s leading outdoor equipment suppliers, offering packs, clothing and gear for virtually any outdoor activity.
On the cycling side, their packs range from small hydration packs to huge “bike park” day packs that’ll hold anything you need for a back country or multi day ride.  Above and below is the UltraTrail pack, available in 15 and 20 liter sizes ($80 – $95).  All seams are totally sealed with their “Ultra Seam Tech” welding (click on left image to see interior detail), and the back panel uses its Aeroflex system to keep the bulk of the pack off your back, so you won’t get overly sweaty.
Hit ‘more’ to see a very cool adjustment feature that lets them adjust to any size torso and a pic of their range of bags…
At the bottom of the bag is a velcro adjustment strap that lengthens the shoulder straps to accommodate different length torsos.  Simply release, pull to the desired length, then press the velcro strap back down.  This differs from adjusting straps on the front (which these bags also have) because it keeps the shoulder pads in the correct position while allowing the pack to sit appropriately at the waist.
The full range of bags are compatible with any hydration bladder. They’re available in the U.S. through LibertyMountain.com
