Inspired by the UCI World Championships’ selection of Scotland for its inaugural mega event, artist Michael Valenti (aka Veloist) painted two pieces using the Lochness monster for its focus.

Above, the acrylic-on-watercolor paper is turns Nessie into rainbow striped hills with a cyclist ascending them. Spokes fill the gaps, turning the monster’s motion into bicycle wheels. The artwork is a 1/1, with no prints being made. As of this story going live, it’s available for $350 on his website with free shipping inside the USA. It’s painted on 30×22 paper and the image measures 26×18.

As with any good ride, a warmup helps get you ready, and this watercolor was the practice run for the acrylic piece. It, too, is offered as a 1/1 with no prints, for $325 on his website. It’s painted on 18×24 watercolor paper, but the actual art measures 12×18. More photos of both, including closeups, at the links.

If you miss out on the art and can’t make the event, at least you can ride the virtual Scottish race courses on Zwift.

Beautiful art AND not crazy pricing for original works.
