The new Viral BOOST MTB carbon mountain bike fork is made for bikepacking, with mounts for everything and routing for a dynamo hub.
Designed to complement their Dérive bikepacking mountain bike, the full carbon fork has a standard tapered steerer to fit all modern mountain bikes. Axle-to-crown height is 490mm, about the same as a 80mm travel 29er suspension fork.
The dropouts feature flip-flop inserts, letting you choose between 44mm and 52mm rakes. It’s got a Boost 15×110 thru axle, with internal routing for both front brake hose and dynamo wiring.
The fork has fender and rack mounts, with three “anything cage” mounting points on the side of each leg.
Claimed weight is 650 grams, retail is $490 USD. Preorders are open now for $100 off, shipping starts in November.
Want their Derive bikepacking frame shown top of post to go with it? Or their Skeptic MTB? A limited number of frame kits are still available for order for their December batch. They run $4,795 and come with a complete Pinion C1.12 drivetrain, Gates CarbonDrive belt and cogs, lockring tool, shifter, and the first-year oil change.
