Um, that pic of John Tomac racing with drop bars is sick. All the mtb guys who harsh on roadies, sigh…

That’s when tomac finished 4th in the DH worlds in 1990. On a bike with drop bars and a 73 degree head angle. I remember reading an interview when he claimed something along the lines of being out of control during much of the race run.

Horst leitner surely has to be in the hall of fame. His suspension design would have to be the most successful and most widely copied in the history of mountain bikes

Bender…gimme a break. How about Karpiel instead? I’ve had the misfortune of running into Josh in AK and OR–egomaniacal sociopath to the extreme. Not saying I would ever dream of doing what he did, but he’s a pretty unlikable creep. How about good people with a sense of humility for the HOF?!

Can’t they all be put into the HoF? All of their contributions all established change in the sport/ industry.

I really want to throw Bender in the mix, but there were some other names around his time that had a little more control and less yardsale crashes that could be on the list; albeit he was an early big hucker. But why not have them all introduced as well?

IIRC Horst did not invent the “Horst Link” it was the guy who runs Nicolai who did it when he worked for Horst so I think they should share it if it is true.
