It looks like Wahoo RFLKT and RFLKT+ users are getting an Easter egg a little early this year. Thanks to a newly announced partnership with Ride With GPS, the Wahoo cycling computer will now be able to display turn by turn directions. Already unique in that the RFLKT is simply a reflection of apps running on your smart phone, the nature of the design allows new features to be added such as GPS navigation. In order to take advantage of the new feature, users will need a RFLKT or RFLKT+, a compatible smart phone (iPhone 4s and newer and Android 4.3 and newer), as well as an account with Ride With GPS.
Once you have all the needed ingredients, you can start making your own GPS routes…
Even though the RFLKT or RLFKT+ won’t show a color map to follow, the computer still manages to have detailed turn by turn instructions. Using the Ride With GPS Route Builder, you can figure out your adventure before you leave and upload it to the app. Once the RWGPS app is loaded to your phone, the RFLKT is added to the Bluetooth devices in the app and following the subsequent on-screen prompts will get you to the display screen on your RFLKT showing the directions.
RWGPS is a pay to play service, but current RFLKT and RFLKT+ owners and anyone who purchases one in the future will be given a free one month membership. Both current and future RFLKT and RFLKT+ models will work with the new RWGPS feature, but the RLFKT+ model adds an ANT+ bridge to connect with any ANT+ sensors or power meters. The RFLKT and RFLKT+ are currently available for $100 and $130 respectively.
