The Associated Press put together a list of the trends in bicycles, giving the lay person in any market whose paper picked up the story insight into all the different types of bicycles are now available.  If you thought mountain bikes were the only ones with way too many categories (trail, xc, all-mountain, freeride, downhill, dirt jump, dual slalom/4x), think again…the micro categorization spreads to road and commuters, too.
The trends they identified are:

- Pedal Assist Electric Bike
- Eco Design Bikes
- Folding Bikes
- Xtracycle (pictured)
- Aerodynamic Road Bikes
