If your bike can handle internal routing but your cockpit (or personal preference) can’t, the new Wolf Tooth Components Aero Headsets for Semi-Internal Routing are what you need.
Designed for frames using an IS52 or EC44 headset with integrated routing, they have a custom seal at the cable entry ports that eliminates contamination from moisture and debris, maximizing bearing life.

They’re also designed for slammed stems, with an ultra-low 7.8mm stack height that keeps any cables and hoses tucked directly under the stem for a very stealth look on non-stealth bikes.

Machined from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum at Wolf Tooth in Minnesota, USA, they’re built with Enduro stainless steel bearings that use the largest possible ball size, filled with high-pressure waterproof lubricant.
Sealing against the elements is critical on fully and semi-integrated bikes, where a bearing replacement involves disassembly of the cockpit and a brake bleed. So, they’re finished off with Wolf Tooth’s triple-seal system that works with the cable entry seals to protect bearings from the elements.

If you’re wondering, the semi-internal headset has the upper headset’s cable entry ports on the outer, visible portion of the shell, hence the seals where cables and hoses enter. The full-internal has ports on the flat surface that sits under the stem for systems that run lines through the stem and directly into the headset.
These Semi-Internal Headsets have six cable ports, sized for two hydraulic brake lines and four mechanical (brake, shifter, dropper, shock lockout) lines.

Like all of their products, they’re fully serviceable and rebuildable. Weights are 54g (upper) and 28g (lower). Available now in a variety of colors, MSRP is $179.95.
