Wolf Tooth Components is no stranger to color. The brand offers colorful bottom brackets to match headsets, chainguides in multiple colors, and dropper levers in nine colorways.
These color options make Wolf Tooth an easy choice when coordinating your bike’s color. But the brand goes beyond solid colors into unique, limited-edition offerings. Their latest limited-edition run has the popular Waveform pedal getting a tropical splash.
Wolf Tooth Waveform Tropical Shirt

Think Hawaiian shirt you’d wear to your company BBQ. It says: I mean business, but I’m also here to party. This is precisely the vibe of Wolf Tooth’s latest Waveform pedals. The limited-edition Tropical Shirt colorway features a base color of seafood green, with splatters of orange and purple.
The Tropical Shirt Waveform pedals are available just months after another limited-edition release. Earlier this fall, Wolf Tooth delivered an anodized Cotton Candy colorway, again on the Waveform platform.

This Cotton Candy was more than sweet (bad pun), as the pedals sold out in less than six hours.
Not Just Funky Colorways

Yes, it is cool to have components and other small offerings in multiple colors or even limited-edition colorways. However, that (obviously) isn’t the only thing Wolf Tooth has going for it.
The Waveforms are damn good pedals.
Wolf Tooth built the Waveform pedals with a dual-concave design, thicker at the edges than at the center. When paired with 11 (on each side) stainless steel pins, the Waveforms lock your feet in and keep them securely planted.
They also design the pedal body to fit an actual shoe outsole, ensuring the pedal pins contact rubber. Wolf Tooth offers two proportionally scaled pedal platforms — Small and Large — to match foot sizes. However, the limited-edition Tropical Shirt colorway is only available on the Large platform.

The Waveform pedals run on a stainless steel axle with three bearings and an igus bushing. These are sealed up at both ends to keep dirt and debris out.
But if dirt and debris get in, or a pedal breaks, they are easy to service/fix. Wolf Tooth’s “Right to Repair” certainly sets the brand apart. Every part of the Waveform pedal — from the body itself to the igus bushing — is available as a spare part.
Typically, Waveform pedals retail for $199.95. These limited-edition Tropical Shirt Waveforms are a bit more expensive at $239.95.
