40 t WTC GC chain ring cassette adapter

It seems one of the most common requests for cassette adapters is to offer them in 40t instead of 42t. You asked, Wolf Tooth (along with other manufactures) delivered. Offered along side of their 42t GC, the new 40T GC is being sold now through pre-orders with the first product shipping out on April 11. Only available in black for the first run, other colors will be offered soon. If you haven’t been keeping track, their 42t GC is now offered in black, red, and blue.

More details, plus some color for XTR, and some big sponsorship news, next!

Retailing for $89.95, the first run of 40t GCs will only be compatible with Shimano 10 speed XT and XTR 11-36 cassettes. Because the shift points are designed for use with those cassette models, using something else will result in poor shifting. In order to use the GC you will have to remove the 17 or 15t cog and spacer from your cassette like the other cassette adapters on the market. The 40t GC will not include a replacement B-tension screw, though they will be available as a single item for sale on their site.

WTC Red XTR

If you’re running a Shimano XTR M985 Race crankset and like red, check out the new 88mm BCD ring offered by WTC. This extremely limited batch of Matte Red 88x32t rings may never be seen again. Or they might make them again, who knows. All you need to know is that the anti drop chainrings are made from 7075 aluminum and have to be used with a 10 or 11 speed chain, and they look good in red. Pick up a matte red ring for $79.00.

Wolf Tooth Components Brian Lopes WTC rings

Yes that is flyin Brian Lopes, and yes he will be riding for WTC this year.

I was just about to press the ADD TO CART button on one of these badboys when I realized that I’m running an XX cassette. I know it’s virtually physically impossible, but there has to be a way, no?!
