Thanks to a big push from SRAM to get all the latest bikes ready for Transmission, your new bike will probably have a UDH. That’s Universal Derailleur Hanger, and to SRAM’s credit at this point, it is nearly universal. That’s great news if you happen to break a derailleur hanger since spare should be easier to come by.
While SRAM offers their own UDH replacement hanger, more and more companies are starting to offer their own replacements – like Wolf Tooth Components. By fully CNC machining the hanger from 6061-T6 aluminum, WTC claims their hanger has a stiffer construction with more crisp shifting.
Maybe more importantly for the fashion-conscious out there, the hanger includes a Color Shop anodized bolt and washer. These are available in nine different anodized colors to match the other WTC components and accessories including raw silver, red, gold, orange, black, olive, blue, ultraviolet purple, and espresso.
Compatible with all UDH bikes running standard derailleurs, the hanger has a claimed weight of 32g and an M12x1.0 axle thread pitch. The WTC UDH sells for $44.95
