As soon as the front derailleur vanished from most mountain bikes, the dropper post lever swooped in to take its place. This made for dropper levers that were ergonomically pleasing to use and easy to reach. But what if you’re still running a front derailleur? Or what about bikes with bulky suspension lock outs or even e-bike controls cluttering the bar? For those bikes, Wolf Tooth Components has a new option to consider.
Called the ReMote BarCentric, their latest dropper post remote still uses a ball bearing – but in a completely new way. This time, the bearing is large enough that it actually fits over the handlebar. This large sealed Enduro bearing allows the lever to rotate smoothly, while also taking up just 14.5mm of real estate on the handlebar.
The thin profile and vertical lever position allows for it to play nice with front shifters, e-bike controls, or various suspension lockout levers. Of course you can rotate the position of the lever to your liking with the cable routing positioned so it doesn’t interfere with disc brake levers.
Designed for cable actuated dropper posts, the BarCentric is compatible with droppers that place the cable head at either end of the system. Priced at $74.95, the ReMote BarCentric weighs 41g and is available now.
