French cycling accessory company Zéfal has a new compact AFA 8 Plus multi-tool with a neat little mini glove box mount that tucks in under pretty much any bottle cage. The small flat AFA multi-tool has all the core tool bits you’ll regularly need, plus a chain breaker, and it all snaps securely by itself into a tidy mount on your bike so you’ll never have to dig for a tool to make quick trailside adjustments.
Zéfal AFA 8 Plus multi-tool with its own mini glove box
I always appreciate a good multi-tool and love any accessory that takes advantage of unused space on the bike. This new Zefal AFA 8 Plus setup looks to be a little bit of both. As a tool alone it looks to be a nice compact solution of 4 short bits nested under 4 longer ones, all built into the end of a simple alloy chain breaker.
But it’s the slim storage that caught my attention. The multi-tool snaps securely into a reinforced plastic bracket that bolts either above or below a standard bottle cage, so it’s easy access to get to your tools.
No more digging into a saddle bag to fish out a tool. No need to carry a tool in your jersey pocket. And no more forgetting a tool at home.
Tech details

The Zefal AFA 8 Plus tool itself is an aluminum chain tool with machined steel bits. The tool itself is just under 8cm long x 5cm wide, with the 8-12sp compatible chain breaker.
