Zwift is packing the fall calendar with updates that aim to make training smarter, racing fairer, and the virtual world bigger than ever. From AI-driven personalized recommendations and auto-adjusting goals to the all-new Zwift Click controllers and an expanded New York map, there’s plenty for indoor diehards and casual Zwifters alike.

New Zwift Click Controllers

Launched last year, the Zwift Ready program makes it easier to get rolling indoors, bundling a trainer with the Zwift Cog and Click controller. This ensures you’re race-ready out of the box.

The new Zwift Click controllers (shipping September 9th) bring integrated navigation and shortcuts right to your bars. The updated click controllers are similar to Zwift Play but in a lighter, more flexible format. Mount them almost anywhere, customize button orientation, and finally control Watopia without fumbling mid-ride. Check out our ride review here of the new Zwift Click Controllers
Upgrade kits run $49.99 / £49.99 / €49.99.

Smarter Training with AI Recommendations

Coming in November, Zwift is rolling out personalized recommendations powered by AI. These tailor workouts, routes, Robo Pacer rides, and events are based on your recent training load and riding preferences. Add in auto-adjusting goals, and Zwift will tweak your targets week-to-week. This is based on indoor and outdoor ride history. The new Progress Report Screen will also highlight your gains after every session. It includes your fitness score, streaks, goal progress, and your racing score.

Zwift Unlocked Tour & New York Expansion

Mark your calendars: October 6 – November 16 marks the new Zwift Unlocked Tour, replacing the Tour of Watopia. Expect 10 fresh routes across multiple worlds, all with double XP. The finale (October 27) introduces an expanded New York map — Zwift’s largest update in years. It adds 31 km of new roads and 20 routes that stretch from Central Park to Prospect Park via the subway tunnels. Inside those tunnels? Zwift’s new Power Segments: all-out wattage tests where raw power, not speed, determines your ranking.

Racing Gets a Tune-Up

Zwift’s racing scene continues to evolve. Starting September, Racing Score becomes the standard categorization system. There are updates to keep seeding fair and dynamic, including score decay if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines. Anti-botting detection and new anti-cheating tech are also in play to clean up results and XP farming. From Zwift Racing League (September 16) to the quirky Virtual Brompton World Championships in November, there’s something for every flavor of racer.

More to Come: Zwift Camp, Drops & Apparel

Zwift Camp returns September 15 with “Baseline,” the first of three seasonal workout camps to structure your winter training. The Drop Shop gets fresh MyCanyon colorways on September 25. Additionally, Zwift’s partnership with Pedal Mafia drops the Watopia Essentials apparel collection on September 16.

What Does This All Mean?

Zwift is leaning hard into smarter training and better racing this season. AI-driven recommendations promise less menu scrolling and more pedaling, while new hardware makes the experience more seamless. Add in New York’s biggest expansion yet and an ambitious new tour, and it looks like a busy fall for Zwifters worldwide.

Hey, if it’s good at knowing what I need better than I do, I’ll take it.

Nobody wants AI? Nobody? Really? Did you ask EVERYONE?

There is a divide in AI adoption right now with one camp (typically older), saying AI is the work of the devil and the other camp embracing it.

If you don’ like AI, don’t use it. But you don’t speak for everyone, you only speak for yourself. I for one embrace AI and have found it to be incredibly valuable tool that has brought benefits to both my personal life and my work. I want AI. And I know I’m not alone.
