rebecca rusch joins niner bikes

Niner Bikes has signed Rebecca Rusch as a brand ambassador and test rider. Rusch, whose national and world titles in whitewater rafting, adventure racing, orienteering, and cross-country skiing sit alongside well-known national wins and record setting victories at ultra-endurance events like Leadville Trail 100 and the Dirty Kanza.

More from the press release below…

PRESS RELEASE: Rebecca embodies traits that Niner as a brand and as a group of passionate riders find incredibly inspirational. Rebecca’s excitement and enthusiasm for mountain biking shines brightly through her commitment and support as a cycling advocate to IMBA, World Bicycle Relief, PeopleForBikes.org, the National Interscholastic Mountain Bike Association, and her very own SRAM Gold Rusch Tour.

“My mission has always been to push my own limits, while also encouraging everyone else to push theirs,” says Rusch. “By joining the Niner family, I will be able to continue to pursue those goals. Everyone I know and trust, from my mechanic, elite athletes, industry professionals to core riders, has nothing but the best things to say about Niner. The equipment and the company values mesh perfectly with my passion for the best gear and a collaborative, inclusive relationship. This new partnership feels like the perfect alignment of our collective goals. I can’t wait to see what we can do together.”

Rebecca will be riding the new JET9 RDO and AIR9 RDO on the dirt. When it comes to gravel she’ll be piloting both the RLT9 and BSB9 RDO. Additional bikes will be added to the quiver as the season and events dictate.

Niner Bikes’ owner Chris Sugai said: “A memorable quote from one of my friends, Michael Habitat, is ‘Rebecca is the epitome of a good sport and has been known to wait at the Leadville finish line for 6+ hours until the last rider crosses congratulating every single exhausted finisher,’ nicely sums up why Rebecca is such a great fit for us, she embodies what we value in our ambassadors.”

Rusch will make her Ninerd debut at the beginning of her SRAM Gold Rusch Tour this March. An incredibly valuable athlete, ambassador, and advisor to Niner, we couldn’t be more excited for everything that lies ahead of us in this partnership.

Our Spesh rep was just bragging on her a couple of days ago. I wonder what they did to lose such a great representative.

@vic – her race resume claims the 2006 National 24 Hour Orienteering Championship as her title. The results are here (maybe in the Female Master’s category?) http://roc.us.orienteering.org/results/NARC_2006_0610.shtml#FO24

Good to see another woman highlighted besides Marianne Vos and Katie Effin Compton.

Big companies often times underestimate the value of people that are the face of their companies. EC, now this. People leave because they don’t feel that their current employer values what they do. Good luck to her and smart move by Niner.

@JB – thanks, but that was not an orienteering competition, most likely rogaining – a team endurance sport. There is no such thing as a national 24 hour orienteering championship. Even extreme orienteering events are over in less than two hours ( some in as little as 15 minutes ) and are done solo.

Such a huge ambassador of the sport and community – I once finished the P2P in Park City and happened to meet her in the parking lot with my girlfriend/support crew – She was beyond friendly, interested in hearing when my girlfriends experience with the race, and all around enthusiastic that we were out there.

Big bump for Niner!
