It may have made its debut to the world of NAHBS, but X-Fusion officially took the wraps off the new McQueen in Taipei. Adding to the growing number of suspension forks that fall into the 27.5 plus/29″ category, the McQueen builds on their 34mm chassis. Along with McQueen, X-Fusion is adding a new version of their Rough Cut bladder damper, and the Revel X is one step closer to delivery…
Keeping with the 34mm chassis, McQueen is said to have the same stiffness thanks to a beefed up fork crown compared to the other models. Tire clearance is said to accommodate 27.5 x 3.2″ tires and most 29″ non plus tires.
Otherwise it uses the same damper and air spring configuration with the Rough Cut HLR or RL2 options. With a claimed weight of 5 lbs/2267g, the fork will be available in 100, 120, and 140mm travel configurations with a 46mm offset, tapered steerer, and post mount brakes. Keeping the legs together is their LockX 15mm QR TA in 110mm spacing. Pricing should be in line with the Sweep which would put it around $600, and it should be hitting shops in May.
Now on its third redesign, the Revel X is closer still to production. Said to be in the final version here, the fork has gone from bolt on dropouts to non, and now back to bolt on dropouts which X-Fusion says is to allow the keys to line up. When available, the fork should run $999.
Slotting in below the Rough Cut HLR, the new RCP damper is a three position platform adjustable bladder cartridge. The idea is to make tuning easier with low speed and 3 high speed compression settings and will be an option on certain forks moving forward.
