Interbike 08 SRAM Road Components.

SRAM had lots of new stuff to show off for their road side.  Here’s the video showing off the goods, followed by pics and some details when you read “more”…

The new SRAM wheelset features three models, S40, S60 and S80.  The number refers to the depth of the carbon rim.  All models are clinchers and are intended for (fast) everyday riding.

SRAM also revealed their all new BB30 standard crankset in their RED group.  The BB30 standard increases stiffness and improves ankle clearance while dropping some serious weight, putting their RED groupset (with ceramic bearings) at about 1800g, making it the lightest road groupset available.

They’ll be unveiling their new wireless SRM power measuring crankset at the indoor show…all they could say was that it’s new and it’s real, but they were pretty tight lipped on any deets.

For the Cyclocross set, Avid (owned by SRAM) has some sweet new brakes that can run any pads.  It’s available in two sizes.

We’ll post more from inside the show…and the mountain stuff is coming up!

Thanks Tyler,

Any word out on why SRAM Red is reportedly noisy during riding as compared with its competitors? I was thinking this was a problem with their cassettes but I have not seen one in real, only heard reports from friends and people I know…so a lot of it is speculation.
