What is the Tool School?

The Park Tool School is a unique program for learning bicycle maintenance and repair in a hands-on environment. It’s taught by cycles de ORO Bike Shop experts in repairing and maintaining bicycles. The class manual (included with course) is the new BBB-2 Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair. The material in the student manual acts as the outline for each session of the clinic, with curriculum designed by the Park Tool Company, which is augmented by the hands-on demonstration of the instructor.

How long is the course of study?

The course at Cycles De Oro is 12 hours of classroom/repair bay study, covering 4 nights from 7:30pm till 10:30pm. Dates are Mon, Oct 14, Wed Oct 14th, Mon Oct. 19th and Wed Oct 21st.

What does it cover?

It spans the whole range of bicycle mechanics, from basic lubrication & flat repair, to bearing overhauling and wheel truing.

Who can take this course?

Anyone who has the desire and inclination to understand and work on their own bikes. The session is limited to a maximum of 10 students.

Who is the instructor?

This session will be taught by Kyle Branyon. Kyle has been a top mechanic at cycles de ORO for many years, having started as a junior racer over 10 years ago and steadily progressed in his skill and experience in both road bikes and mountain bikes. He has just returned from the Las Vegas Interbike Show where he saw the latest in bicycling technology.
