Maybe I’m just excited about the upcoming Ninja Assassin movie, but Ceepo’s aptly named triathlon bikes are pretty deadly looking.
Ceepo is the official bike partner of Ironman, which is why every bike we photographed has aero bars.  Above is the Viper, a model that was released for 2009.  For 2010, they’ll be introducing a version made for internal wiring of Shimano’s Di2 electronic Dura-Ace.
There are two new models we covered, the Katana and the women’s Grace, both full of sharp lines and bold shapes. Check ’em out after the break…
It’s a good thing Ceepo only makes Triathlon bikes…there’s no way these would pass the UCI’s 3:1 test.  But Ceepo’s longer tube shapes are designed to have a higher aspect ratio, which is more aerodynamic without paying a real weight penalty.  In fact, we weighed (just didn’t photograph) these bikes on our Park Tool’s scale and the Viper with full SRAM Red build weighed in at just 17lb 9oz.
The frame is 100% 40Ton High Modulus carbon fiber.  Ceepo’s aero shaping is intended to work best in non-drafting situations, similar to what you’d find in triathlon (other than the Olympics…drafting = lame, IMO).
The “fins” on the fork step their wrap around the brake arms.
The rear brake is tucked under the bottom bracket where the air is already fairly turbulent from the pedaling motion and such.  This particular bike was built up with Di2 (but was not the official Di2 model), so the derailleur stops weren’t being used.
The Viper comes in black or white.  The black one is the one we weighed, so weight is without a rear disc wheel.  Frame weight (M) is 1,450g and fork weight is 480g.
The Katana is a new 2010 model, and it’s designed for long-distance triathlons.  It has a more compliant frame than the Viper, but offers solid stiffness with the highest aspect ratio downtube in the market.  Frame weight is 1,400g and fork weight is 480g. It’s not UCI legal either.
It’s a little blurry, but the Katana comes in black, too, and the rising sun graphic on this is in matte black offset against the gloss black frame for a very stealth look.  This one, with SRAM Force, weighed in at 17lb 5oz and also uses a 100% 40Ton HM carbon frame.
New for 2010 and available in January is the womens-only Grace.  It’s the official bicycle of IronGirl, and it’s made with a 70/30% mix of 40T/30T HM carbon fiber to offer a balance between stiffness and vibration absorption.  Frame weight is 1,400g and fork is 480g.
The Grace has full internal cable routing, an 1-1/8″ headtube with integrated headset and comes in either Small or Medium sizes.
Lastly, Ceepo showed off their new 2010 38mm Raad carbon wheelset.  They’re 700c only and have a rim width of 19cm.  16 / 24 Sapin CX-Ray spokes (F/R) and they weigh 560g front and 750g rear.  They’ll be available in January 2010.
