2010 Brodie Dissident Mountain Bike

Brodie has put the Dissident slopestyle / dirt jump / 4X / Freeride bike back in their queue for 2010, and they just sent over the specs with some sweet photos and these words:

Whether you’re railing the slopestyle section at your favorite lift-access park, expanding your bag of tricks at the local dirt jumps, climbing up to a ripper free-ride trail or getting heli-dropped on top of a sweet alpine plateau to rip a mega-enduro DH trail, the Dissident will deliver an adrenaline filled, giving you all the control and confidence you need to get to the bottom with a grin, as dusty or mud-spackled as it may be!  Key updates include:

1.5” head tube: A larger diameter headtube means more surface area for longer and thus, stronger welds. This also results in a stiffer front end while at the same time eliminating the need for gussets, which helps keep the frame weight down.

Updated Mandrel Shaped Tubeset: High control over the consistency of wall thickness and the ability to change the thickness gives a mandrel formed frame greater strength-to-weight savings and eliminates the need for heavy gussets. As well, the ability to shape these tubes creates a lot more stand-over in the top-tube than previous versions of the Dissident.

The Brodie Dissident gets 85-140mm travel in the rear and is set up for a 120mm travel fork.  It’s available in two sizes, Short and Long, and has a 68.5º seat angle and 72º head angle.
