Marzocchi has just announced an all new lightweight carbon-crowned 29er fork, the 2012 Corsa Superleggera 29″.

The Italian fork maker says this model was built from the ground-up specifically for 29″ wheels and offers ample clearance for wider tires, lightweight and an 80/100/120mm internally adjustable travel, which should cover the range of  XC 29er bikes. It’ll be available with both alloy crown/steerer and the full carbon crown/steerer shown above. Top model weighs in at just 1650g or 3.64lbs. That’s 68 grams heavier than the new carbon-crowned SID 29er with 15mm thru-axle, but you gain 20mm of available travel.

The aluminum crown should save some coin, but no word this one’s weight, or pricing for any of them, yet.

Marzocchi’s nickel plated stanchions are super-smooth. We’ve been testing one of their other 29er forks and the action and small bump sensitivity is very impressive.

Features (as written by Marzocchi):
AER – Air that makes you fly
Completely reengineered, the new air system performs better than any other system on the market. Countless reviews and tests agree with us! Plushness you would expect from a coil combined with the air volume adjuster offers an ideal compression curve that fits any rider. The low pressure required keeps the seals sliding smoothly on the surface with no friction at all. Furthermore, the fixed piston in the closed cartridge helps to reduce weight since less oil is needed in the entire system.

TST Micro
Slightly redesigned to reach perfection, the TST Micro is the latest step in a forward evolution of our closed cartridge hydraulic system. The red knob on the lower part of the fork leg adjusts rebound; the black top lever activates the Micro system controlling compression. The Micro adjustment located in the middle of the top left knob sets the threshold valve in order to offer maximum traction and control on any terrain and combining it with any riding style. Lockout is activated quick and easy to not hold you back from your uphill adventure.
