Last week it was retro jerseys, now Cinelli’s celebrating Nelson Vails’ ascent from NYC bicycle messenger to silver medal Olympian with this limited edition cycling cap.

It’s styled after his  skin suit worn in the ’84 Olympics track races. Retail is €15, grab it here. Sales of the stars and stripes cap will help fund production of the forthcoming documentary film ‘Cheetah – the Nelson Vails Story‘. Check the trailer for that, plus more pics of the cap, below…

Love the cap (not a hat), but no cap is worth $20

@David, sales of the cap help fund ‘Cheetah – the Nelson Vails Story.’ That’s gotta add a little value.

great story and great accomplishment for sure…no question…but later in life, far removed from his accolades and living in CO, he developed an abrasive prick-like attitude….arm out, palm up-hook me up bro..not a fan

Cool hat. I was a 13 year old bike geek larva and my dad took me to see him kick some butt at the ’84 olympic event. Went to titos tacos in Culver City afterwards. great memories

Nelson Vails is an inspiration, particularly to many inner city youth. He is a true pioneer of cycling in America.
