Initially teased out in Sedona, SKS made good on their promise for a low pressure floor pump. Called the Big Wheel, the pump is designed to not only push a lot of air, but to allow precise measurement at the gauge. If the pump has you excited for fat bike use, you may want to check out the fat bike fenders after the break…

To make inflating to lower pressures easier and more accurate, the Big Wheel uses a pressure gauge that tops out at 24 psi. One change from the pump above, on the U. S. models PSI and bar will be flipped so PSI is easier to read. The Big Wheel pushes a lot of air with an 80 mm barrel and mounts to Presta or schrader with their EVA head.

Hardly a new idea, SKS is joining the zip tie fender movement with a design of their own. Made of heavier weight material, the Flap Guard conforms with specifically placed grooves and mounts with the included zip ties at the front or the rear bike for $14.99.

SKS is also putting their own spin on fat bike fenders with the new Fatboard. Using a downtube mounted front, and seat tube mounted rear, the Fatboard should offer adequate protection on most fat bikes. The rear fender is adjustable in pitch with a hidden bolt underneath, and the whole set sells for $54.99.

Finally, SKS adds the S-Blade Front fender which is a quick release design for road bikes. Using silicone straps, the fenders quickly attach to each fork leg, and are adjustable in angle for a precise fit. Meant to be paired with the S-Board rear, the S-blade retails for $21.99.

I just ride 2.35″ tires and that Big Wheel pump looks awesome. I never go over 20 PSI.

^ Ditto Ryan’s thoughts. I’ve got the Lezyne mtb pump but it still goes up to 70psi. I rarely run as high as 24psi on my mtb, this could be really nice for dialing in tire pressure.

If the dial went to 35 psi, and had a air bleed button on it, I would be all over it. 24 is obviously way more than enough for a fatbike, and many conditions for a normal mtb tire, but sharp rocky conditions often require close to 30. My current go to for the mtb is 25-27F and 29-31R, with 2.35 on 29mm IW rims.

Is anyone having issues with SKS Smartheads? The one I have does not play nicely with schrader valves.

I’m going to keep this in the car, in case it gets a flat too.
