Not all that long ago, if you wanted to pick up a set of pedals for your kid’s bike there weren’t a lot of appropriately sized options. That, and the options that were there probably weren’t the best quality since kids’ bikes are already expensive enough, right? Fortunately, along with the wave of adult quality kids’ bikes, manufacturers are stepping up with quality pedals built for little feet.

Machined from 6082-T6 aluminum with a chromoly axle, the Icon Mini has very similar specs to the big version including double DU bushing and 4 sealed bearings per pedal. The biggest difference is that there are a few less pins and M4 studs pins are used which should be a little more friendly to beginners’ shins. The pedals shown here are still prototypes so they may change a bit by poduction.
Also in the pipeline are the new Skywalker 3.0 and Kamikaze platforms. The Skywalker is and evolution of their current pedal with a 110x110x15mm body with a concave platform and 4 sealed bearings including the massive inboard bearing and a weight of 350g. Pricing is expected around €160 with availability around February. The Kamikaze is almost the same size platform at 108x110mm but is thinner at 13mm. Another prototype, the Kamikaze will be an interesting option if they reach their target MSRP of €70. Also available is the crazy light Millennium Mag Ti which tips the scale at 244g per pair for €240.
On the stem side, Sixpack is now offering a super short 35mm version of the Skywalker. Now available in 35, 50, and 75mm lengths, the stems are 31.8mm clamp only and the stubby one comes in at 113g. Any of their stems (or other stems for that matter) are perfect candidates for their Action Cam Mount. When not in use the mount can be flipped to hide inside your stem. Otherwise, the stem mount provides an interesting view point that is rattle free.
The Action Cam Mount includes an extra long compression bolt since the ability to flip the mount requires the starnut to be set deep in the steerer. The mount will include a tool to properly set the depth of the start, though if you don’t want to flip the mount you could always use it without a standard start to be able to switch it from bike to bike. The 2 in 1 mount includes the bolt and tool for €34.50.
