BH bikes, like many bigger bike brands is making a move to offer their own full line of clothing and accessories, building on their purchasing power and experience with overseas production. Just a few weeks back the Spanish company introduced their new shoe overhaul in the same vein, and now a new EVO helmet tops out the line above S.Light and Light versions. The updated BH helmet looks to have a design strikingly similar to some of its competition, but premium performance at a low price point seems to be where they are heading. Take a closer look after the break…
While most dedicated helmet makers have spent recent updates focusing on aero advantages, the newest EVO helmet is hitting back at their lightweight and well-ventilated models. The EVO uses pretty standard in-mold EPS construction and a one piece polycarbonate shell, but manages to keep the weight down to just 218g for a large (L/XL; the S/M claims 10g less.)
The helmet’s interior doesn’t have very much in the way of deep venting channels, but does benefit from an overall open design, standard wicking pads, and a light retention system. In the back a simple dial tunes the fit, and it gets separately adjustable height. The chin strap is secured with a proprietary magnetic clasp that BH claims is easy to operate with one hand.
The new 80€ EVO helmet now comes in black versions only, with 3 different accent colors. It is intended for both road and mountain use and includes a detachable visor.
