Introduced at Eurobike last fall, Brook’s lightest saddle to date is now shipping.
The Cambium C13 marries a one-piece, full carbon fiber rail and frame to a cotton-reinforced vulcanized rubber shell that comes in at just 265g on our scales. For Brooks, that’s light, and considering the pliability and comfort it’s designed to offer over the roughest roads, it’s a small penalty to pay. The timing is right, with increased interest in gravel road riding and increasingly adventurous bikes being made to suit such expeditions.
To test that theory, they sent David Millar racing over the cobbles of the Paris-Roubaix course in the video below…
The vulcanized rubber is cover molded over organic cotton to maintain its shape. It’s connected to the braided carbon frame with black anodized alloy rivets.
The saddle is shipping now and available for $220 / €200. Tech specs are:
- Length – 275 mm
- Width – 132 mm
- Height – 55 mm
- Weight – 259g (claimed)
- 9mm Oval Carbon Rail
