To celebrate Chris King’s 40th Anniversary, they’re unveiling their latest Limited Edition color called Olive Crate.

Name comes from when Chris moved from Redding, CA, to Portland, he packed all his stuff in about 300 olive crates to get it there. It’s a first-for-them brushed metal finish that’s done before anodization, and then it gets the new olive green color…

Shown here on an assortment of products, the production items that you’ll be able to buy won’t be announced until late March or April. However, you’ll see some items like a bell from Spur Cycles and other promotional partners popping up for sale in a couple weeks to build up the hype.

The hubs will get a special logo treatment on the shell and black axles, and all parts will get the brushed finish.

They’ll also (likey) have limited edition custom wheel builds with matched graphics.

Nice color… about the same as my Schwinn Stingray I got for my 7th birthday in 1969.

I’ve been waiting since the beginning of December for an orange pair of R45 hubs. I keep getting told that they are running new batches every few weeks but I guess the color keeps coming out wrong.

Are you #%*ing kidding me? I’ve been waiting for months for my bike shop to get some orange hubs for me and they keep saying they’re “working on it” month after month. Then they rehash some ugly color they used to do?

I’m starting to think they want me to go to Industry 9.

Orange has been a color that is difficult for many brands, as of late. And, for what it is worth, the I9 hubs are pretty badass, or Onyx if you want instant engagement.

go hope. The new evo 4’s are real nice, and way cheaper.
