While the platforms carry over from 2016, the 2017 Jamis Nova Cyclocross Series brings fresh paint and updated spec while remaining a solid value. The cyclocross lineup is led by the Supernova Team (shown), which gets their top-level Dyad Plus T700/FRP monocoque carbon fiber frameset.

Spec includes American Classic Argent tubeless 15mm front/12mm rear thru-axle wheels, SRAM Force , SRAM Force CX 1×11 group with hydraulic disc brakes stopping 160mm rotors front and rear (rear was 140mm this past year), Fizik Aliante Delta Saddle, and Ritchey WCS 220 stem for $3,999.

Next down the line is the Supernova Elite, which shares the Team’s carbon frame but comes in at $2,799 with SRAM Rival Hydro 1×11 group, Alex rims and Clement tires. The chain is upgraded to a PC1110, cassette grows to an 11-42, both a little better than last year, and also bumps up to a 160mm rear rotor. Carbon models come in five sizes from 51 to 61.

Last in the lineup is the 6061 aluminum Nova Pro with SRAM Apex 1×11 and hydraulic disc brakes.with a $1899.00 MSRP. It comes in six sizes from 48 to 61.

All three get Clement tires, Ritchey cockpits and should hit dealers in late July.

The Renegade series saw more dramatic updates to the frame, with increased fender and rack compatibility and other nifty features. We covered these in detail at Sea Otter, including the steel Expat and alloy Exile models.

Those look pretty good….except for that darn rear brake hose routing….what were they thinking?!

Yeah, that hydro line routing is pretty bad. High mount rear calipers and post mounts are on the outs too. Would’ve been fine for a 2012 model release, seems they put more effort into designing the Renegade to be current than the Novacross.
