FFWD is celebrating their 10 year anniversary by branching out to the dirt, launching their first mountain bike wheels. Called Outlaw, the hoops borrow the carbon fiber experience they’ve acquired making road, cyclocross and triathlon wheels and use a full carbon layup. Two models will be available starting first of October, an XC set and an AM set. Both sets are built on DT Swiss 240 Centerlock disc brake hubs and laced 28/28 with straight pull hubs.
The Outlaw XC measures in at 21mm tall, 29.5mm wide and 24mm internal width. Claimed weight is 1,445g (27.5) and 1465g (29er). They’re set up for 15mm thru axles front, 12mm thru axle rear, and include preinstalled tubeless rim tape and valve stems.
The Outlaw AM spreads things out to a 24.5mm tall rim thats 33m wide on the outside and 26mm wide internal. Claimed weights are 1,485g (27.5) and 1,495g (29er).
Both sets will retail for €1,998.
