The Yuba Supermarché shifts the cargo to the front of the bike in their first ever bakfiets style bicycle. The alloy frame splits for easy shuttling if you need to, but combines for some big loads. Details are light since it doesn’t formally launch until next year (at a price of $2,599), but expect it to have multiple box and bag options to fill the front end. Steering is handled by a dual cable system, stopping by disc brakes front and rear.
Mounting spots for all of their accessories are placed all over the rear end, letting you add bags, seats, etc. They have new oversized bags (the Go Getter) and Carry On Extensions to make it so you can hang twice as many bags off the side of the bike.
The second bike coming early next year is the Sweet Curry, a non-motorized version of the Spicy Curry. The reinforced chassis gives it a bit more capability than the shorter wheelbase Boda Boda, and it can easily be upgraded to have an e-assist if you end up carrying more than originally planned.
This one’s showing off their third new accessory, a quick release front basket. Rather than the original bolt-on’s quasi permanence (because, really, who’s gonna take it on and off if you’ve gotta remove four bolts every time?), this one can be removed in less than a minute.
The rear platform will hold up to 300lbs, with the ability to add the same bags, kid seats, secondary handlebars, etc. Look for this one to set you back $2,199 when it starts shipping in February 2017.
