Where to ride

  • BC Bike Race adds BC Bike Ride for an ultimate road trip – Mountain bikers will now get even more choice on how to experience British Columbia: riding or racing. After many years of selling out entries into the race, organizers are introducing BC Bike Ride North, coming August 5-13, 2017. The ride will connect 7 BC communities: North Vancouver, Williams Lake, Prince George, Burns Lake, Smithers, Terrace and Prince Rupert. Riders will hit 14 unique sectors of purpose-built singletrack in the intermediate to advanced all-mountain adventure. 3000km over 7 days starting and finishing in Vancouver. It’ll be limited to just 100 spots for a deep dive into some lesser known areas of British Columbia with world class trails. Registration opens next week on February 7 at 9am, so think it over and then sign up. BCBikeRace.com
  • Discover Quito’s most well-known biking route: El Chaquiñan – El Chaquiñan Biking Route is one of the most well-known and traditional biking routes in Ecuador. It route crosses the parishes of Cumbayá, Tumbaco & Puembo, across a section of old railroad that united the northern Andes with the coast. One of its most unique draws is crossing the bat-filled tunnels in complete darkness for a full-on adventure. Quito.com.ec

  • Six races stops that get so enduro: the IMBA National Enduro Series – Why is IMBA sponsoring a race series? Simple. Without places to ride we could not have events on trails. This series will highlight the trail stewardship and partnerships that result in the ability to host events on trails. IMBA.comNationalEnduroSeries.com

Advocacy

  • Support Ride Sheffield for new trails at Redmires with killer promos – Firstly, Ride With Peaty. They’re offering 10 lucky people the chance to ride with Steve, probably around Lady Canning’s when some more winter work is done there. Each rider will meet Steve, ride around the Lady Canning’s and Black moor area, and probably get in a cheeky pint afterwards at the Norfolk Arms. They’ll also get a signed Ride Sheffield T Shirt made out to them from the man himself. All for just £200 per rider, and the warm glow of knowing you have helped make an awesome trail happen. Secondly, Hope Technology have offered the chance to tour their factory in Barnoldswick, so they’re offering 8 of you a place for just £150. Again, all proceeds go straight to the RADmires fund. Hope will show you all round the factory, see their Design Offices, Test lab, Milling, Turning, Laser cutting, Polishing, Anodizing, Wheel building, etc. Then probably finish with some laps of the pumptrack if the weather is decent. If you are interested email them here, or just head to: RideSheffield.org.uk
