Based on the 2017 Dirty Kanza 200-winning Avion Disc wheelset, Stan’s NoTubes has now released a rim brake version called Avion Pro R. The full carbon rims were given a heat-resistant brake track and standard hubs to fit regular road bikes that still want to take advantage of tubeless tires.
And wider tires. They have a massive 21.6mm internal diameter, with reinforced sidewalls to handle the higher air pressure used on the road. It’s designed around 25-28mm wide tires pumped up to 115psi (with or without tubes, or 32-50mm wide tires running up to 45psi. Either way, they’re held in place using the brand’s ultra low profile Bead Socket Technology.

Claimed weight is 1455g for the set, and they come pre-taped with Stan’s yellow rim tape and 55mm tubeless valves stems.
